Robotic Fryers & Automated Grills

Updated · 7 entries · Brand-neutral, no paid placements

What to look for

Fry and grill stations are among the hottest, most dangerous and hardest-to-staff positions in any kitchen, which is why they were one of the first places automation took hold. Robotic fryers load, time and shake baskets, and automated grills cook burgers or proteins to a set program, so a cook can step away from the oil or the platen.

Before you take a demo, confirm how the unit fits under your existing hood and fire-suppression system, whether it works with the fryers or grills you already own, and what electrical and network drops it needs. Ask for an NSF listing for the exact model, a realistic throughput figure at your peak (maker claims are usually best-case), and the service response time in your region. Fry automation tends to pay back fastest in high-volume settings such as stadiums, campus retail, hospital cafés and busy QSR-style concepts. In lower-volume kitchens, a ventless automated fryer may matter more for where you can put it than for the labor it saves.

This category currently lists 7 systems: 4 commercially available and 3 in pilot or limited release. 1 has an NSF listing we could find, and 0 are guest-facing.
